Hello Past and Present Fox Valley Scuba Club Members,

This message comes with a very heavy heart, that Leland Haskins Sr passed away on November 14, 2018.

His family was by his side as he sang his last note. His music and laughter will be forever played in our memories.

Leland has been an active member of our club for many years.

Haskins Sr., Leland D. “Lee”

Leland D. “Lee” Haskins Sr., 87 of Menasha passed away on Tuesday, November 14 at home. Lee was born March 5, 1930 to Sherwood and Genevieve Haskins (nee Manders) in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Leland joined the United States Marine Corpsfollowing high school and served from 1948 to 1955. After receiving an honorable discharge for his services, Leland graduated from St. Norbert College in 1958. Leland then spent 30 years a pharmaceutical sales representative, where he met his future wife Jean. Leland and Jean were joined in marriage on April 30, 1971.

Leland is survived by Jean (nee Krieg, formerly Sawall) his wife of 46 years. Leland is the loving father of the late Leland Jr., Lora Haskins, Dan Sawall, Loretta (Thomas) Ferg, Cynthia (John) Gaffney, Linda Turner, Andy (Pam) Sawall, Pam (Mark) Holewinski and Lynne Ackerman, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Leland is preceded in death by his parents, his son Leland Jr. and his grandson Chip.

Leland was an avid scuba diver and was a member and instructor at the Fox Valley Diving Club. After his retirement he also enjoyed photography and was a photojournalist for the Chilton Times. Leland and Jean traveled extensively together including numerous trips to Hawaii. Leland built and played his own ukuleles. The family spent time at the cabin in Middle Inlet together as well.

Memorial visitation will be held at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, on Saturday November 18, 2017 from 12 Noon to 3:00 PM. Funeral service at 3:00 PM. Full Military Honors to follow. Private interment in Allouez Cemetery. Memorials to Affinity Hospice in Leland’s name are appreciated.
